Just realized the guy yelling at his taper in the Home Depot lot was right about butt joints
Last week in the Home Depot lot on 8th I heard a foreman telling his taper they lost 2 days redoing a hallway because nobody staggered the joints right, and it got me thinking about how I've been laying out my own butt joints. I've been stacking seams in the same bay for years just because it was faster, and now I'm wondering how much call-back work it's cost me on jobs like the Cedar Rapids apartment complex. How do you all space your butt joints so the finisher doesn't hate you?
