Bought a $30 torque wrench instead of the $120 one and the $30 one was the smarter buy
Everyone in my truck group in Dayton keeps saying you have to spend at least $120 on a torque wrench or your lug nuts will fall off. I grabbed a $30 Harbor Freight one for a brake job on my 2014 Silverado and checked it against my buddy's $150 Snap-on with a tester at his shop. The cheap one was within 2 pound feet across the whole range, which is plenty fine for lug nuts that call for 140. Has anyone else actually tested the cheap ones instead of just repeating what the tool truck guy says?
