Overheard someone brag about a $900 espresso machine at the office
I was in the break room last Tuesday and this guy from sales goes on about his new Breville setup, saying it pays for itself in a year. I did some quick math on my calculator app, and at $6 a latte from the place downtown, he'd need to skip about 150 cups a year just to break even. That's like 3 coffees a week every single week, plus he still buys beans for $18 a bag. Has anyone else priced out the real break-even point on fancy gear like that, or am I just being too picky about the numbers?

Ha, sales guys and their toys. My husband did the same math on his grill and somehow the burgers cost more than the steakhouse now. The machine never pays for itself, it just makes you feel fancy while you do it.
