A chat with a coworker in the break room made me rethink my dinner plan
Yesterday, I was heating up my usual frozen pasta meal in the break room at work. My coworker, Mark, looked at it and just said, 'You know, you could make that fresh in about the same time it takes to microwave that brick.' He told me his go-to is a box of pasta, a jar of sauce, and a bag of frozen meatballs. He said he puts the water on to boil, then dumps the sauce and meatballs in a pan on low. By the time the pasta is done, everything is hot. It takes maybe 15 minutes total. I tried it last night and it was way better, plus I had leftovers for lunch. It made me realize I was stuck in a rut with the same three frozen things. What are some other super simple combos that feel like a real meal?

Wait, you were microwaving frozen pasta? That stuff is always a total gamble.

Yeah it's like half the time it comes out okay and the other half it's a chewy mess. Gotta stir it like three times and even then some bits stay cold. Maybe it's just me but the sauce always seems to separate too.
