I switched from fresh to frozen vegetables for weeknight meals and I'm not going back
For years, I insisted on buying fresh produce every Sunday, but half of it would wilt by Thursday. About six months ago, I got stuck at work late and grabbed a bag of frozen peas and carrots. Dinner was ready in 15 minutes, with zero prep and no waste. Now my go-to stir-fry uses a frozen veggie mix, and I save at least 30 minutes a week on chopping. Is sticking with fresh ingredients worth the extra time and money on a busy Tuesday, or has frozen won the convenience debate for you too?

My mom always said fresh was best, so I felt guilty using frozen. Then I tried frozen spinach in an omelet last month. It cooks down perfectly every time, no gritty stems or dirt to wash. I don't miss spending ten minutes cleaning a bunch of greens just to watch it shrink to nothing. The texture is fine for soups and eggs, and I'm not throwing away slimy bags anymore.

Yeah the "shrinks to nothing" part is so true, anna_carter53. I used to buy fresh for salads, but for cooking? Frozen is just smarter. It's already blanched so you're getting more of the actual vitamins since it's frozen right after picking. Saves money too because there's zero waste. I keep a bag in the freezer for whenever I need some greens in a pasta sauce or scramble. The guilt is gone once you realize it's actually a good choice.
