inMy 10-year-old niece just asked me why our home router has a password if the internet is free.
Right? That lock and key thing is the only way it finally clicked for my nephew. I tried explaining cookies and data before and his eyes just glazed over. But once I said it's like we don't let strangers look through our windows at home, so why let them watch what we do online, he totally got it. Framing it around real world stuff they already understand makes all the difference. It turns a weird tech rule into basic common sense for them.

inPSA: My Klein crimper gave out halfway through a big apartment job in Tacoma
My dad's old Knipex pliers are the same way. The grips are worn smooth but they still lock up tight. It's crazy how a tool can last through two generations of projects without a hiccup. They just don't make stuff like that anymore.
