Update: tried a 5-ingredient slow cooker chili on a work night and it went sideways fast
So I got home around 6:15 on Tuesday and threw chili in the slow cooker thinking I was being smart. Problem was I dumped in a whole can of chipotle peppers instead of one pepper, and by 8pm the whole apartment smelled like a campfire. My roommate took one bite, said it tasted like regret, and ordered a pizza. I ended up scooping out about half the pot and dumping in a can of plain tomato sauce plus a spoon of sugar to cut the heat. It worked okay but we ate at 9pm which kind of kills the whole point of an easy dinner. Anyone got a trick for saving an over-spiced slow cooker meal that doesn't involve waiting another hour?
