Hit $50,000 in reno spend last month, and I barely blinked

I added up all our receipts for the basement redo in Parkallen and realized we crossed $50k without any major surprise like a foundation crack. That number stung more than I thought because it took 4 years of saving to get there. Has anyone else tracked their total per square foot, or am I just a masochist with a spreadsheet?
