Customer asked me to wire a hot tub on a 15 amp breaker, then argued about it for 20 minutes
Last Tuesday I showed up to a house in Peoria for a hot tub install. The homeowner pointed at a 15 amp breaker and said that should be plenty since the tub was only for two people. I tried to explain the math, 40 amps minimum for that model, but he kept insisting his old one ran fine on less. He even pulled up a YouTube video of some guy doing it and said I was just trying to upsell him. I finally packed up my tools and told him to call someone else, but he refused to pay the trip charge. Has anyone else walked away from a job like that or is it just me?

Wow, people really don't get that electricity doesn't care about how many people fit in the tub. I saw a news story last year about a house fire from a hot tub wired wrong on a small breaker, so you were totally right to walk. He's lucky you didn't call the inspector on him instead of just leaving.
