Klein vs Milwaukee linesmans - the Klein ones won by a mile
I did a side by side test last month with my old Klein linemans and a new pair of Milwaukee ones I picked up at Lowes. The Milwaukees cut 12 gauge solid wire fine but when I tried 8 gauge it was like chewing through a bolt. The Kleins just chomped right through with no struggle. I used a digital caliper to measure the jaw gap and the Milwaukees had almost double the gap after the cut. Has anyone else noticed Milwaukee's cutting edge dulling way faster than Klein?

@samw47 nailed it. Milwaukee's steel just can't keep an edge like Klein.

You really measured the jaw gap? That's solid. I've had the same problem with Milwaukee linemans. They feel good in the hand at first but the edge goes soft fast. I think they're using a lower grade steel or something. Tried cutting some hard drawn copper with mine and it left a burr. Kleins just stay sharp way longer. I've got a pair from ten years ago still cutting clean. Milwaukee makes good saws and drills but their hand tools just don't hold up to real work.
