Went back to an old job site and saw my 20 year old panel still holding up
I was out in Burnaby last week doing a quote and walked into a building I hadn't seen since 2003. That panel I wired in the basement still had my labels on it and not a single thing was wrong. Made me realize how much faster we work now but man, we took more time on the little details back then. Any of you guys ever run into your old work and feel kind of proud about it?

Oh man, my buddy swears he found a panel he did back in '98 still running a whole warehouse and the owner didn't even know the thing was that old.

Still running a whole warehouse and the owner didn't even know" - that's insane, @ben827. I mean, '98 was over 25 years ago. That panel is old enough to vote and buy beer. If it's still humming along without catching fire or glitching out, that's honestly impressive but also kind of terrifying. No way I'd trust a quarter-century-old control panel with a whole warehouse's operation unless it had been seriously maintained. Most gear from that era is riding on borrowed time with sketchy caps and tired relays. Your buddy better hope the owner never opens it up and sees the cobwebs and ancient date codes inside.
