Was team glycolic acid until a client changed my mind last month

I always used glycolic peels for acne clients because that's what I learned in school. Then a regular of mine kept breaking out worse after her peels and I finally listened to her. Switched her to salicylic acid treatments instead and her skin cleared up in 3 weeks. Has anyone else found that certain acids work way better for specific skin types?

My turning point was with a client in her late 20s who had combo skin and kept getting closed comedones after glycolic peels. I switched her to salicylic acid and saw real improvement within two weeks, not more breakouts. Now I use glycolic mainly for dry or sun damaged skin and salicylic for oily or congested types.

Salicylic acid is stronger than glycolic for unclogging pores, just different.
