Had a horse throw a shoe in the middle of a trail ride last Saturday

I was out with a client near Pine Creek when her mare lost a front shoe on some rocky terrain. Had to do a temporary patch with duct tape and a hoof pad to get her back to the trailer. Has anyone else had to improvise a field fix like that?

Honestly that duct tape and hoof pad trick is a solid one. Tbh it's the same kind of emergency fix we all rely on when things go sideways, not just with horses but with anything mechanical or outdoor related. Ngl most of life is just learning to patch things up on the fly until you can get to a proper repair.
