Nearly ruined a silk dress with the wrong interfacing
I was working on a drapey silk blouse last week at my kitchen table and grabbed what I thought was lightweight fusible interfacing. Turned out it was medium weight and I ironed it onto the sleeve cuff before I realized my mistake. The fabric got stiff and bubbly in seconds, totally ruining that sleeve piece. Had to cut a whole new sleeve from my remaining yardage and double check every interfacing roll before touching anything. Has anyone else had a fabric disaster from not reading labels carefully enough?

Oh man, my friend did this with quilt binding and melted her whole project.

@noah_walker16 that's rough with the melted project, totally feel the pain. Your story ties into this bigger pattern I've noticed where rushing through the small checks gets us into trouble in a lot of areas, like I almost printed a bad check last month because I didn't read the memo line twice. Does anyone else find themselves making simple mistakes when they skip the double checking step?
