Pro tip: I finally figured out how to make a clean facing for a curved neckline

I was making a dress with a deep scoop neck and the facing kept rolling out, no matter how much I understitched. After three tries, I cut the facing from the same fabric as the dress body, but on the bias this time. It laid flat against the curve perfectly and the neckline looks so clean now. Has anyone else tried this trick for tricky necklines?

My last bias facing still bubbled on a silk dress. I just fuse a lightweight interfacing to the straight grain piece instead.

Ugh, silk is so tricky, I feel your pain with that bubbling.
