Wasted $60 on a fancy caulk gun that was totally overkill

I bought this expensive dripless caulk gun from the hardware store for a bathroom project, thinking it would save me time. Turns out it jammed halfway through the first tube and I had to dig the silicone out with a screwdriver. Has anyone else had luck with those cheap $12 ones instead?

Holy crap, you had to dig it out with a screwdriver? That sounds like a nightmare. I've been there with the expensive stuff and it just pisses you off more because you paid for the privilege. Honestly, I've used the cheap $12 ones from the big box store for years and they work fine for most jobs. You just gotta cut the tip at a good angle and not squeeze too hard.

My friend just spent $80 on a "lifetime warranty" caulk gun and it jammed on the second tube. He spent an hour cleaning it and the warranty was basically a coupon for a replacement that didn't match. Funny how the $10 ones from the hardware store just work, no questions asked, until they don't and you toss them. Isn't that how everything is now though, you pay more for the promise of quality and end up with the same headaches.
