My desk lamp was hurting my eyes for 3 months before I noticed
Got feedback on my gaming setup post last week. Someone said my monitor was too close to the window. I laughed it off at first. Then I tried moving my desk 2 feet to the left. Now my $40 Ikea lamp doesn't cast a glare on my screen anymore. My eyes feel way less tired after 4 hour sessions. Did anyone else have a dumb simple fix like this that took way too long to try?

The glare problem is real, my desk used to be right under an AC vent and I never connected my dry eyes to that. Had a similar dumb moment where I just tilted my monitor down 2 inches and suddenly my neck pain went away after months. Sometimes its the smallest adjustments that make the biggest difference. Like moving my mousepad 4 inches to the left so my wrist isn't bent at a weird angle. We all get stuck in our ways and forget to experiment with furniture placement.

Man I used to roll my eyes at people talking about monitor height and desk setup. Thought it was just another way for companies to sell expensive ergonomic gear. But then I had my own stupid moment where I just raised my chair an inch and suddenly my shoulders dropped from being up by my ears all day. Still feel dumb it took me a year to try that. The mousepad thing really hits home too, I kept my keyboard dead center for months before scooting it two inches right and my ulnar nerve stopped screaming at me. Little stuff adds up more than I ever gave it credit for.
