Appreciation post: My $80 knee pads are the best money I ever spent
Honestly, I used to just use the cheap foam ones from the big box store. Bought a good pair with the hard cap about six months ago and my knees haven't ached once since. Anyone have a favorite brand for long days on concrete?

Wait, hard caps are actually worse for concrete. They don't let your knee sink in and spread the pressure. You want a soft, padded cap that molds to the floor. The hard shell is for rocks and sharp stuff.

Makes sense, soft padding would spread the weight out better.

Totally changed my mind on this. I always bought the hard caps thinking they were tougher, but after reading this and seeing what @the_ryan said, it clicks. That pressure spreading out on concrete makes way more sense than just having a hard shell. I'm looking for a softer pair now.
