Had a bride tell me her bouquet looked like a 'sad vegetable platter'

She was right, it was all greens and white callas with zero pop. Now I sneak in at least one bright focal flower, like a hot pink ranunculus, even in the most minimalist designs. What's the weirdest critique you've gotten that actually improved your work?

Hah, that's a good one. @brookefox, I can see that happening with too much green. My weird one was a client saying my arrangements looked "too polite." It took me a minute, but they meant everything was too symmetrical and matchy. Now I always rough things up a bit, toss in a wild stem or put something off-center. It gives it more life.

Got told my centerpieces looked like fancy salad bars, which honestly, fair.
