Heard a neighbor in Phoenix say they spent $400 just on floor paint

I was at the hardware store last week and a guy was telling the clerk about his garage project. He said the epoxy floor kit alone was over four hundred bucks, which seemed wild to me. It got me thinking about where the real cost is in these makeovers. Anyone have a good cheaper option for a tough floor finish?

Totally get that. Feels like everything for home projects has doubled in price lately. What even makes that stuff so expensive?

But isn't that price actually fair for what you get? A good epoxy kit lasts years and protects the concrete from oil stains and cracks. Cheaper paint would just peel up in a few months.
