Unpopular opinion: everyone's putting their floor epoxy on way too thick
I just redid my own floor in my Seattle garage and used the Rust-Oleum kit, but my neighbor did his last month and used like three gallons on a space half my size. His floor is already peeling and feels weirdly soft underfoot, like walking on a giant sticker. How much square footage are you guys actually getting out of one of those standard kits?

Wait, is that why my old floor felt like a squishy sticker too? @thea_chen is right about the thin coat thing... I used one kit for my whole two-car bay and rolled it out super thin, almost like I was running out. It dried hard and hasn't peeled at all. My neighbor's thick pour is already yellowing and chipping by the door.

Totally agree, saw the same thing with my brother's garage. He glopped it on trying to hide cracks and now it's a shiny, sticky mess that bubbles in the sun. My contractor friend said you just need a thin, even coat, almost like painting a wall.
