My neighbor pointed out a huge flaw in how I run our local book club

She said, 'You pick books that are over 500 pages every time, and people with jobs can't keep up.' I looked at our last six picks and she was right, every single one was a huge novel. Now I make sure we mix in short stories and novellas too. Has anyone else had to change their group's format because of feedback like that?

Actually, I love the long book picks. Those big novels give our club something really meaty to dig into every month. I'd be bummed if we switched to shorter stuff just because some people are busy.

I totally get what @dakotal16 means about loving big books, but mixing in shorter reads lets more people join the fun.
