Spent $200 on a local lawyer for a small contract and it saved my whole deal
I had a guy wanting me to install a new system in his rental property, but his contract had some weird clauses about liability. I paid a lawyer in my town, Springfield, to look it over for me. He found a part that would have made me pay for any damage to the property, even if it wasn't my fault, and helped me fix it. Has anyone else used a lawyer for a small job contract and had it pay off like that?

Glad it worked out for you. That reminds me of a friend who almost signed a lease for a food truck spot. The owner had a line in there about my friend being on the hook for fixing the pavement, which was already cracked. He showed it to his uncle, who used to be a property manager, and the guy just laughed and said to cross it out. They did, and the owner signed it without a word. Sometimes people just slip stuff in there hoping you won't notice.

Isn't it crazy how often that happens? They bank on you just signing without reading the fine print. Good on your friend for having someone look it over.
