My camp coffee setup is now quick and mess-free, thanks to a tip
Boiling water in my bottle with instant coffee saved so much time.

On my hike last month, I saw a guy boiling water in his Nalgene. I was sure it would melt, same as @the_troy. But he explained it was a Tritan bottle, made for high heat. I tried it myself, and honestly, it worked perfectly. No damage, no plastic taste. Now I'm a convert, and my morning coffee setup is twice as fast.

Hold on, you actually boil water inside the bottle? Isn't that bad for the plastic? I'd be scared it would melt!

Scared it would melt shows you haven't tried it. The plastic in these bottles is made to handle boiling water, @the_troy. It's a specific type that won't just break down from heat. I've been doing it for years when I'm out and need a hot drink. The key is using a bottle meant for it, not some cheap disposable one. It doesn't get damaged at all.
