PSA: I thought cutting all fat from my stews was the healthy move

My aunt's old trick of using a spoonful of bacon grease to start the onions changed my mind. Now I get how a little fat builds flavor so you enjoy the veggies more.

Ugh, olive oil is so boring though... bacon grease makes everything taste rich and cozy. Andrew's just making bland stew, sorry not sorry.

I mean, come on, is it really that serious? A spoonful of bacon grease sounds good, but does it change everything? People act like these small tricks are life-changing, but most of the time, it's just food. I've made stews with and without, and they both taste fine to me. Maybe we're overthinking it.
