I was just walking down the aisle looking at corner bead and suddenly a big sheet of ceiling drywall came crashing down like 10 feet from me. Nobody was hurt but the whole store went silent for a second and then an employee just walked over and stared at it. Has anyone else run into shoddy drywall work in a big box store like that or was this a one off thing?

Told a guy his 'condenser coil cleaning' trick was snake oil...

Had this old timer at a supply house swear by using a leaf blower on outdoor condenser coils instead of a proper coil cleaner. I laughed it off for like a year. Finally got a call last August where a unit was tripping on high head pressure and I forgot my chem spray at the shop. Grabbed his leaf blower trick as a Hail Mary. Blew out about 15 pounds of cottonwood fuzz and dog hair in under two minutes. Pressure dropped right back to normal and I saved myself an hour of spraying and rinsing. Has anyone else found a 'wrong' tool or method that actually works better than the proper stuff?

I've been learning Python for about 6 months now and I always thought using AI to fix your code was cheating. Like you're supposed to struggle through it and figure it out yourself. But last night I was stuck on this dumb loop problem where my list comprehension just wouldn't output what I wanted. I spent 2 hours staring at it, tried rewriting it 3 different ways, and nothing worked. Finally I just copy-pasted my code into ChatGPT and asked it what was wrong. It spotted a missing colon in like 2 seconds. I felt kinda dumb but then I asked it to explain why my original code failed and it walked me through the whole logic step by step. Now I get how list comprehensions actually work way better than before. Has anyone else had that moment where a shortcut actually taught you more than struggling through it?

Last Tuesday, a regular came in for his usual fade. As I was lining him up, I noticed a small, red, scaly patch behind his ear that wasn't there two weeks ago. I stopped right there, showed him with a hand mirror, and gently asked if he'd seen a doctor about it. He hadn't, so I told him I couldn't touch that area and suggested he get it checked before his next cut. Has anyone else had to handle something like this, and how do you word it so the client doesn't get upset?

I finally tried quenching a small knife in used motor oil from my truck

I was out of my usual Parks 50 and figured I'd give the old 10W-30 a shot on a little blade. The steel, some 1084, came out way softer than expected, like it barely hardened at all. Has anyone else had a weird result with an automotive fluid quench, or should I just stick to the proper stuff?
