12 monthly visitors to 1,200 is a nice jump but sounds like you just got lucky with one viral post or a bot crawl. The agency probably had a plan for steady growth over time not a flash in the pan. Low quality traffic that bounces in 10 seconds wont pay the bills unlike a smaller but focused audience that actually converts. Id be worried if that spike drops back to zero next month which happens all the time with black hat tricks or fluke social shares.

Yeah that 1200 number is just gonna be a bunch of people who clicked a link to see a cat in a cardboard box and left after 3 seconds. Everyone always talks about traffic like it means something but half of it is bots from Russia and the other half is people who accidentally tapped your site on their phone while scrolling. Bet next month theyre back to 12 visitors and the agency will be like "well the algorithm changed.
