A client in Austin asked me if my crew uses an AI drone for roof inspections, said it would 'cut my quotes down to 15 minutes'.

Sounds like they're confusing speed with a good job. A drone can't feel for soft spots or see water damage hiding under shingles. You'd end up with a fast quote and a ton of callbacks.

Mary's got a point. Drones are a cool tool for a first look, but they can't replace hands-on checking. You need to get on that roof and poke around to find the real problems. Skipping that step just means missing stuff that will bite you later. It's a shortcut that ends up making more work for everyone.
