Had to choose between a $30 AI writing tool and doing it myself for a client blog post in Milwaukee

I picked the AI tool to save time, but it spat out such generic fluff about local coffee shops that I ended up rewriting the whole thing anyway, so has anyone found a prompt that actually gets local details right?

Maybe you need to feed the AI the actual local blog posts yourself first.

The real trick is you gotta prompt it like you're talking to a local who just moved to town last week. Feed it the street names and landmarks first, not just the city name. I tell it stuff like "Prairie Cafe on Brady Street by the river with the red awning" instead of just saying a coffee shop. Then I add a line like "don't act like you're describing it from a brochure, tell me what the waitress thinks about the owner's dog." That usually gets me something less robotic. But honestly you still have to spend 15 minutes massaging the output to make it sound human. The only way I've gotten good local stuff without a ton of back and forth is saving my own writing samples and telling it to match that tone exactly.
