Bought frozen fries based on a barista's tip, now I'm second guessing everything
Was grabbing coffee last Tuesday and the barista told me to spray a little oil on frozen fries before air frying them. I always just tossed them in dry, thought oil was only for homemade ones. Tried it that night with a cheap bag from Aldi, and they came out crispier than the name brand ones I usually buy. Now I'm wondering what else I've been doing wrong in this thing, anyone got a basic rule they ignored for too long?

and the real kicker is you probably don't need to preheat the air fryer either, i never did for like a year and everything still came out fine, but the oil trick is just the tip of the iceberg honestly. the bigger thing people sleep on is not crowding the basket, i used to dump a whole bag in there and wonder why half the fries were soggy, turns out they need room to breathe or whatever. once you start giving them space and a little oil, it's like a whole new machine. also shaking the basket halfway through is huge, i know it sounds obvious but i straight up forgot for months. so yeah, the barista probably has more hidden gems, maybe ask them about reheating pizza next time, that changed my life lol.
