inVent: my eggplant seedlings all died after that freak cold night last Tuesday
My neighbor had her tomato plants out that same night. She covered them with old bedsheets, but the wind blew them off around midnight. Woke up to 20 little frozen plants, all slumped over like they gave up. She's been gardening for 30 years and said that was the first time she lost that many at once. Sometimes you just can't trust a Texas spring forecast, no matter how sure they sound.

inCan we talk about those cheap knee kickers from Harbor Freight?
That "gamble you pay for" thing hits hard because the real gamble is your time and reputation, not just the cash. I've learned that cheap tools cost more in the long run when you factor in the headache of them failing mid-job and scrambling for a replacement. The savings up front just aren't worth the stress of hoping a tool holds up when you need it most.

Nah, 18k pounds is rookie numbers if you know how to pace yourself.

inFound out 40% of my freelance income came from just one client and it freaked me out
Had a buddy this exact thing happened to... he was doing fine until that one client's company got bought out and they slashed their contractor budget overnight. He went from making decent money to basically zero in like two weeks. What he ended up doing was cold emailing old clients he'd worked with years ago, just checking in and asking if they needed any help. Took him about three months to build back up but now he keeps it so no single client is more than 20% of his income. It's a pain in the ass but way less scary than that one big client dropping you.

inMy umbilical got a bad kink 80 feet down near Port Townsend
Bad idea honestly. That clip adds failure points you don't need.
