Caught a pro installer doing something weird with a paperclip today
I was at a supply house in Nashville picking up a new keypad and saw this old-timer guy pop open a panel using a paperclip to jump the terminals instead of a proper tool. He said it saved him 10 minutes per job because he didn't have to dig for his screwdriver set in the truck. Has anyone else seen or tried this shortcut on a Vista panel?

Ha! I'm the guy who'd probably trip over his own paperclip and end up with the panel beeping at me for an hour while I'm on hold with tech support. Sounds like a quick way to make a 10 minute job turn into a whole afternoon of explaining to the boss why I smell like burnt wire.

Wait, you're telling me he did it on a Vista panel without even powering it down first? That's asking for a short to the data lines or frying the transformer if you slip up even a little. I've seen guys do sketchy stuff on old fire panels but never on a modern Vista system.
