Finally figured out why my drywall joints kept cracking after 3 jobs

Been mudding and taping for 2 years and could not figure out why every joint I did in Calgary would crack within 6 months. An old timer at Tim Hortons told me I was using too much water in my mud and not letting each coat dry 24 hours before sanding. He was right, I was rushing it like crazy. Anyone else learn a basic trick way later than they should have?

Man I was the exact same way. I used to mix my mud super thin because I thought it would make it easier to spread and save time. Took me about 4 houses worth of joint tape bubbling and cracking before I realized I was the problem not the materials. Now I follow that 24 hour rule religiously even if it kills me to wait. That old timer at Tim's probably saved you a ton of headache and money honestly.

Four houses bro that hurts just reading it. I probably would've blamed my tools for three more before I figured it out.
