Had a GC ghost me after promising to fix a water issue 3 months ago

Last November I finished a basement rough-in in Airdrie and the general contractor I subbed for still hasn't paid me or returned my calls has anyone else dealt with a disappearance like this?

Three months and counting? Thats rough man. I once had a guy named Dave promise me a check for a drywall patch job, then he moved to Kelowna and changed his number. Still waiting on that 400 bucks, Dave, if youre out there.

Right? Had a Kyle do the exact same thing to me with a deck stain job.

yeah @caseyclark, I feel that. I had a guy named Mark stiff me on a fence repair once. He paid half up front then ghosted me after I finished the job. I started taking a 50% deposit and making people sign a simple one page contract after that. It's not fancy but it covers your ass if they try to pull a runner on you.
