inMy buddy warned me about season 2 of The Bear and I didn't listen
Watch the sound mixing too. The way they layer in that low hum during the tense kitchen scenes mirrors Richie's constant background anxiety better than any dialogue could.

inHot take: pleats on cargo pants defeat the whole point
Man, I saw my buddy Mike wear a pair of pleated cargos to a cookout last summer and he spent the whole time picking napkins and loose change out of the pockets. He said they looked cool but honestly he just looked like a maintenance guy who lost his tool belt.

inSwapped writing everything out longhand for VS Code snippets after losing an hour retyping the same CSS grid lines
Wow, six months?! That is brutal, @aaronlee. I felt a little sick just reading that. I remember discovering keyboard shortcuts for my text editor after like two years of clicking everything manually, and I just sat there staring at my screen for a solid minute. It's one of those things where you can't believe you didn't look it up sooner, but hey, at least you got there in the end.

inTalked to a retired builder at the hardware store who changed how I look at basement floors
Not sure I'd take that as gospel. I mean, the plastic sheeting test is a pretty old school trick and it can tell you if you've got a major moisture problem, but it's not really the whole picture. Lots of basements will show some condensation under a tarp just from humidity in the air, not necessarily from water pushing up through the slab. If you tape it down tight in a dry spell and still get puddles, that's one thing, but a little dampness might just be normal for the season. I've seen people freak out over that test and spend a ton on waterproofing they didn't need. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather use a concrete moisture meter or hire a guy with a calcium chloride test before sealing anything.

inI realized I've been overmixing my muffin batter for years...
@taylor174 I know exactly what you mean with that rubbery pancake texture. I had a similar problem for years until I started letting the batter rest for about 10 minutes before cooking. Just mix it up lightly, leave it on the counter, and the gluten relaxes. It makes them way fluffier and not tough at all.
