I finally learned my lesson about renting excavators without checking attachments first
Back in 2018 I rented a mini excavator from a place in Leduc for a weekend foundation dig. Cost me $450 for the rental but I didn't check if they included a trenching bucket (they didn't). Spent the whole Saturday trying to dig with a standard bucket and ended up having to call a buddy to bring his own attachment from Calgary. Has anyone else gotten burned by rental places hiding what's actually included in the base price?

Leduc is actually about 45 minutes from Calgary, not really close enough for a buddy to just bring an attachment over.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too when you said "not really close enough for a buddy to just bring an attachment over." @rivera.simon I mean 45 minutes is nothing on a highway if you plan ahead, but it's not like they can just pop over after work on a Tuesday. Plus you gotta factor in traffic around Calgary, that deerfoot trail can turn a 45 minute drive into an hour and a half real quick if you hit it at the wrong time. So unless your buddy is already heading that way for something else, it's way easier to just rent the attachment locally or have it delivered.
