Paid $120 for a used tile wet saw, returned it the next day
I got a screaming deal on a wet saw from a guy off Craigslist in the South Valley. Looked fine in the photos and the motor ran, but when I set it up to cut 12x24 porcelain for my laundry room floor, the blade wobbled like crazy. Turns out the arbor was bent, probably from someone dropping it. I took it back and got my cash, no fight, but I lost an afternoon and still had no way to cut. Ended up renting one from Home Depot for $68 for the weekend, which did the job clean. Lesson learned that used power tools with moving parts are a gamble unless you can test them under load. Anyone else got burned buying used tile gear in ABQ, or am I just unlucky?
