inSkipping connector seals seemed fine until moisture ruined a setup.
My buddy's sailboat in San Diego got wrecked by salt spray in three years. I always figured seals did the job, but your post made me realize regular checks are key.

inUpdate: Used to think thrift shops were just for old clothes, but finding a working rotary phone changed my mind. Pretty happy about it.
Seeing three typewriters at Goodwill is cool, but I'm with @oliverknight on this. Some old stuff just doesn't come back, like VHS tapes.

inMy skepticism about blown-in insulation melted away on a cold job
@the_wesley might be right that thermal cameras make it look bad, but I read a study comparing both ways in old houses. Blown-in insulation always kept heat better because it doesn't leave gaps like batts do. Those gaps might seem small, but they add up on your energy bill. My neighbor used batts and still has drafty rooms, so there's some real world proof. Guess the camera doesn't lie as much as we think.

inWarning: Switching to reusable bags was harder than I thought.
Carrying stuff by hand is the universe's way of shaming you into remembering. I tried the whole "link it to your keys" thing like @karen_torres89 said, but then my keys just got lost in the bag abyss. My system is pure chaos. I have like ten bags piled by the door and still walk out empty handed. The trick is buying so many reusable bags that they spawn in your car by themselves. You just accept the bag mountain as part of your home's decor now.
