Swore I needed a $400 tile saw for my backsplash, a $60 manual snap cutter did the same job in my NE Heights kitchen
I pulled the old 4 inch backsplash off my kitchen wall near Juan Tabo and the grout lines were a mess, so I figured I had to rent a wet saw. The rental place on Menaul wanted $65 a day for a wet saw plus a $200 hold on my card, and I only had 18 square feet of 3x6 subway tile to cut. My neighbor let me borrow his cheap manual snap cutter, and honestly it cut cleaner edges than the wet saw I tried at a friend's place in Rio Rancho. I did the whole wall in about 90 minutes with way less mud and no water everywhere. Has anyone else gone back to the manual cutter after messing with a wet saw, or is it just me?
Same here, borrowed a $30 snap cutter from my brother in law and knocked out my whole laundry room backsplash in one afternoon with zero water mess. Those wet saws are way overkill for small tile jobs.
