Wrote off stucco patching for years, then a crack in my NE heights garage changed my mind
I always said patching stucco was a waste of a Saturday until I priced a pro at $1,800 and tried a $30 bucket of pre-mixed patch instead. Two coats and a sponge float later, you can't even tell where the crack on the south wall was, so what's the catch I'm missing?
Wait, you got quoted $1,800 just for patching a crack? That seems insane for something you fixed with a $30 bucket. I would have laughed in that guy's face and hung up on the spot. Did the pro at least explain why it cost that much, like was there more going on than just the crack? Because from where I'm sitting, two coats and a sponge float sounds like a pretty solid deal to me.
