Found out the DVD box set for my favorite show lists a bonus episode that was never actually made
Was reading the back of the season 2 box I got at a flea market in Reno for 8 bucks, and it promises an unaired episode plus commentary. Went down a forum rabbit hole and turns out the studio cut it last minute, so every box in print still lies about it. Anyone know if that lost episode ever leaked anywhere, or is it just gone for good?

So a cardboard box has a typo on it and that's a crisis? Studios pull episodes all the time and sometimes the packaging gets printed before anyone updates it. That episode was cut for a reason, and it was probably cut because it was bad, not because some exec wanted to hide a masterpiece. If it never aired and never leaked in twenty years, that tells you all you need to know about how much the people who made it cared. Spending eight bucks at a flea market and then going down forum rabbit holes over a line of text on the back of a box seems like a lot of energy for not much. Watch the episodes that actually exist and move on.
