Had a talk with my kid's teacher at the school open house last week. She said 'You fix things people think are broken forever.' Made me look at the pile of 'junk' boards in my shop differently.

Remember that old toaster my grandma swore was trash? It just needed the spring in the lever thing fixed. Now it works better than my new one. Sometimes the fix is stupid simple, like cleaning a connection or bending a piece back. Makes you wonder what else we throw out that an hour of patience could save.
