Hit 500 fridge compressor swaps this week
I was going through my service records the other night and counted up all the compressor replacements I've done since I started on my own 4 years ago. Came out to exactly 500 this week with a Whirlpool job I did over on Elm Street. Never really thought about the number before but it hit me that's a lot of hours kneeling on concrete and fighting with recovery machines. Anyone else ever tally up how many of a specific repair they've done?

Started noticing the same thing with how many times I see the same mistakes in peoples yards. Like that tells you more about how stuffs built now than any warranty sheet could.

Just check what gauge wire they're using on the fixtures and what kind of soil prep they did before planting. That's where 90% of the problems start. You'll see 18-gauge landscape wire on a system that needs 12-gauge if they skimped, and then the plants fail because nobody loosened the dirt first. I always tell people to look at the drip line too. If water pools instead of soaks in after 5 minutes, that's a failure right there. Saves you a ton of headaches later.
