inWarning: overheard two plumbers at the break room yesterday talking about cheap PVC glue failures
Oh wow I totally thought cheap glue would be fine but now I'm definitely sticking to the name brand for anything behind drywall.

inMy bullet journal hit 500 pages and it made me think about digital vs paper
@thea_chen, did you find digital lost that personal feel too? I used to be all for it, but 500 pages changed my mind.

inPlaced a hummingbird feeder in direct sunlight and got zero visitors all June - moved it to a shaded spot and now I'm refilling every 3 days
My buddy in Eugene had this exact same problem last summer. He put his feeder right on a metal pole in the full afternoon sun thinking they'd spot it from a mile away, but nothing touched it for like two weeks. He finally switched it to a spot under a big rhododendron bush where it was always shady, and he said the nectar was way less watery and the sugar didn't ferment so fast. The birds showed up within a day and now he's refilling every couple days too. I think the heat just ruins the nectar way faster than the color matters.

inI keep seeing people swear by static wrist straps on this forum
The real problem nobody talks about is the contact between the strap and your skin. People slap those things on over dry skin or through a shirt and think it's working. Your skin has natural resistance, and if the metal isn't making direct contact with enough surface area, you're basically wearing a bracelet that does nothing. I saw a video where a guy tested himself with an oscilloscope and the strap only cut noise when he moistened the contact point first. Even the best ground in the world can't fix a bad connection at the wrist.

inOld Otis vs new lifts - night and day difference
Night and day difference" is right. Used to love new tech, but that old Otis changed my mind.
