inUnpopular opinion: A client said my $75 balayage looked 'too perfect' and it made me rethink my whole style.
The 22 bucks at Supercuts thing made me laugh, thats real. But yeah, that photo editing comparison is spot on. I think the trick with balayage is that the perfect placement doesnt look perfect if you paint it on too neat. I started leaving a few thicker sections near the crown unbleached and keeping the root melt a little chunkier. It gives it that messy, real hair look that people actually want when they say lived in.

inVent: my eggplant seedlings all died after that freak cold night last Tuesday
Sometimes you just can't trust a Texas spring forecast" is kind of a given though, right? I mean, it's Texas in March, covering seedlings with bedsheets is usually enough unless a freak gust hits.

inWoke up to a flooded laundry room on Tuesday morning
@wadeg92 maybe your water pressure is too high. A cheap gauge could save your floor.

inShoutout to the old guy at Ace Hardware who fixed my dripping faucet with a 50 cent O-ring
my buddy had the same thing happen at a paint store. he was ready to drop $60 on a gallon of fancy primer and the old timer just mixed some white paint with a splash of water, said "try this first." saved him the whole hassle.

inUsed to hate putting watermarks on my art, now I swear by them
Man, that's the worst feeling when someone steals your work like that. My own attempt at watermarking was a total mess - put it right in the corner like a dummy and watched someone just clone stamp it out in five seconds. Now I slap a big goofy looking one right across the face of the piece, like a bad sports logo on a jersey. It looks ridiculous up close but nobody can crop it out without wrecking the whole image. Plus it doubles as a conversation starter at craft fairs. "Yeah that's my watermark, I call it the scarecrow.
