My old boss telling me I was 'too slow' on washer bearings changed everything
I used to pull the whole drum assembly out of a top-loader by myself. Took me like 45 minutes to get the clutch, tub, and bearings all apart. My boss in Chicago watched me one day and said 'you're working too hard, stop being a hero.' He showed me how to pop just the spin basket off with a puller and replace the bearings from the top without yanking the whole machine apart. Now I do the job in 15 minutes tops and charge less for labor which makes customers happy. I was so stuck in my old way just because that's how I learned at trade school. Anyone else had an old timer correct a basic move you thought was gospel?

Did you read that post about the old timer in Detroit who taught the same trick?
