PSA: Don't buy those cheap $15 dryer vent cleaning kits from the hardware store

I spent 2 hours using one of those brush kits last weekend and it just pushed all the lint deeper into the wall, probably clogged it worse than before who knows how much that'll cost me for a professional fix.

Oh great, so you basically just paid $15 to make your dryer vent angrier at you. That's like trying to clean a clogged toilet by pushing the plunger harder and hoping the mess just reroutes itself through the walls. I almost bought one of those kits last month but my neighbor warned me off, said he ended up with a lint snake so long it looked like a dead ferret in his backyard. Now I'm just going to save up for a pro who probably charges by the pound of lint they extract. Hope your next load of laundry doesn't summon the fire department.
