Shoutout to the $80 universal dryer heating element I bought online
It was the wrong fit for three different models and I had to eat the cost. Anyone know a good supplier for actual OEM parts?

Ugh this hits home. It feels like everything's moving to this fake "universal" model where nothing actually fits right. Like they want one cheap thing to cover a hundred different needs, but it just makes everything worse. You see it with phone chargers, software updates, even furniture. It's all about cutting corners for them, not making stuff that works for us. So frustrating to waste time and money on their bad design choices.

Man that's rough, universal parts are such a gamble. I saw a forum thread where a repair tech said those listings are often just wrong, and they only buy direct from appliance parts sites now. It's worth checking if the manufacturer has an official parts store online, even if it costs a bit more. Getting the exact model number from the machine's tag is the only way to be sure.
