Switched from a generic multimeter to a Fluke 117 for appliance calls

The Fluke's auto-ranging and low impedance mode saved me 15 minutes on a fridge compressor diagnosis yesterday. No more chasing ghost voltages from control boards. Anyone else find a specific tool that cut their troubleshooting time in half?

Totally get it. My thermal camera finds bad connections in seconds now.

That's a smart move. My buddy used one to find a hot spot in his old fuse box, saved him from a real headache later. Turns out it was just one loose screw on a main lug, but it was already starting to discolor the wire. Pretty wild what you can spot with a bit of heat vision.
