Last Tuesday was just one of those perfect tree days
Had a 60 foot white oak on a tight residential lot in Portland and it dropped clean into the drop zone, not a single branch caught on anything. Anybody else ever get that rare alignment where the wind, the cuts, and the crew all just click?

nah man i gotta hard disagree here. i've been doing this for years and that kind of perfect drop on a 60 footer in a tight spot is way rarer than people think. lots of things can go wrong like a gust shifting the lean or a branch snagging on a power line. when everything lines up the wind the cut and the ground crew it's not just good planning it's a little magic. you can plan all you want but you can't plan the weather to hold or the tree to cooperate that perfect. that's why we call them unicorn drops.

Aw, come on. You’re making a perfectly normal tree removal sound like a Super Bowl win. I get that it went smooth, but that’s just good planning, not some kind of magic alignment. Let’s not act like a clean drop is a once-in-a-lifetime event.
